Yinni and Yan is a comic series that appeared in the comic magazine Yps from 1975 to 2000 . It has been back at Yps since 2013.

All 1235 episodes were drawn by Heinz Körner from Lichtenfels . Most of the text was written by Michael Forster from Hanover .

In Yinni and Yan is about the adventures of Yps teams consisting of Yinni, Yan, Yorick and Yack. These worked as television reporters for the last German television ( LDF ).

In its adventures, the Yps team travels around the world, often driven by its unpleasant boss, Mr. Knüllmüller. The series is popular with Yorick, who speaks of himself in the third person singular (e.g. “Yorick is tired” instead of “I'm tired”). Yorick is greedy (also obese in later episodes) and clumsy; In the Yps TV team, he is responsible for the sound, often causing cable clutter or tripping over it.

Yan is the cameraman, Yinni the reporter, Yack works mostly in the LDF studio.

Yinni und Yan represents the main and life work of Heinz Körner. In the 25 years in which the series was published week after week, Körner changed his drawing style considerably.

Some time before the YPS issue was discontinued in 2000 (with issue 1253), the Yinni and Yan series ended in issue 1235. The series was not included in the first new edition of the magazine in 2005.

Radio plays

In 1977 two radio plays about the adventures of the Yps team were released on record and compact cassette .
