Yo! MTV Raps was a hip-hop show on the music broadcaster MTV that was produced from August 1988 to August 1995. The show was moderated on weekdays by Doctor Dré and Ed Lover and on weekends by graffiti artist Fab 5 Freddy .

Ted Demme and Peter Doughtery developed the concept of the show on the basis of a similar show produced by MTV Europe in 1987. The set underwent various changes and was partly based on a street scene in order to emphasize the urban character of the show. In addition to spray-painted brick walls , there was a basketball hoop and a park bench for the guests to sit on. The DJ booth was stored on two oil drums . Live performances and freestyles were an integral part of the show. In addition, interviews were conducted and music videos were shown, which dominated the weekend format. There were also outside reports. The program was taken over by MTV Europe and MTV Asia and broadcast in the original language without subtitles.

After 1995 the original format was discontinued and the show was renamed Yo! to a pure music video show, which was directed by different moderators.

Since 2019 there is a local version of "Yo! MTV Raps" in Germany. The broadcast started in March 2019 on MTV Germany.
