YongNuo Speedlite
YongNuo Speedlite , the flash units brand of Chinese manufacturer ShenZhen YongNuo Photographic Equipment Co. Ltd .
General
The Speedlites of YongNuo can be divided into the following categories:
- Manual clip-on flashes for use with cameras from different manufacturers
- Automatic flash head for use with the TTL protocol from Canon or Nikon
- Remote control flashes compatible with the 600 EX-RT from Canon
- Ring flash units for macro photography
Manual flash units
The model names of YongNuo's manual flash units are YN460, YN560, and YN660. The flash units of this series can be used on any camera with a standard center contact hot shoe . The flash unit is controlled completely manually, without any automatic system. Up to the YN560 II model, the settings must be made directly on the flash unit using the controls; from the YN560 III model, the settings can also be changed via radio. The flash is triggered either via the center contact of the hot shoe or, from model YN560 III, via a radio signal. From devices of the 560 series, triggering is also possible via the PC sync input .

TTL-compatible flash units
With the exception of the YN585 EX model, YongNuo's TTL flashes are designed exclusively for cameras from Canon and Nikon. The models of the YN565 series do not have high-speed synchronization (HSS) and can only be used as receivers in radio operation. The flash units of the YN568 series are HSS-capable and from the YN568 EX II model can also work as transmitters in radio mode. The models in the YN685 and YN968 series can handle the manufacturer-specific iTTL or ETTL protocols as well as their own RF603-compatible radio protocol, which is used by YongNuo for manual flashes.

Ring flash units
Ring flash units are mainly used in macro photography and, unlike normal clip-on flashes, are not attached to the camera but directly to the lens . This is to prevent the lens from shading the flash light due to the normally very short distances between the lens and the subject .
