Yonhap News Agency is a news agency in South Korea that delivers domestic and foreign news and information to newspapers and television . It was founded on December 19, 1980 after the Hapdong News Agency and Orient Press merged. Yonhap has numerous contracts with 49 non-Korean news agencies and an exchange with the North Korean news agency Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Yonhap was the hosting news agency for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and was twice elected to the OANA .
