The Yoshida Bluff is a 2000 m high cliff with a flattened summit in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Cook Mountains , it towers on the north flank of the head end of the Carlyon Glacier halfway between Mill Mountain and Kanak Peak . Apart from ice-free areas on the west and south sides, it is covered by ice.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2003 after the Japanese geochemist Yoshio Yoshida, who was involved in four Antarctic summer campaigns in the Antarctic dry valleys between 1963 and 1974 .
