Yossi Mar-Chaim

Yossi Mar-Chaim (מר־חיים, יוסי; Yosi Mar-Hayim , Joseph Mar-Haim ; born October 20, 1940 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli composer.

Mar-Chaim studied at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem from 1961 to 1968 , then at the Juilliard School of Music with Luciano Berio and at the Manhattan School of Music . Since 1964 he has composed more than 200 works, including chamber music and symphonic works, film, drama and ballet music, operas and rock operas. Multimedia works and computer music have also been created since the 1980s. In 1991 he received the Israeli Prime Minister's Composer Prize, and in 2003 the Israeli Composer Prize.
