Ysgyryd Fawr

The Ysgyryd Fawr is a mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Monmouthshire , south of Wales . The Ysgyryd Fawr (Anglicized in cards as Skirrid Fawr , also known as Skyrrid ) than Holy Mountain known (Sacred Hill) of Wales.

It is the northeast of the three peaks that are around the town of Abergavenny in the Black Mountains . The ruins of the St. Michael Chapel are located within an Iron Age fence on the 486 m high summit. There were a number of ice age landslides on the western slope . According to legend, they came about because the mountain was torn at the time of Christ's crucifixion.
