Ystads Idrottsförening ( Ystads IF ) is a Swedish sports club from Ystad founded in 1908 . He is best known for his handball department founded in 1928 .

Handball

The handball department, which was founded in 1928, is considered the most successful department of the club. The first men's team won the Swedish handball championship in 1976 and 1992. Following the 1992 championship, the department for the 1992/93 season of the Elitserien i handboll för herrar became independent as Ystads IF HF .

Soccer

The football department of the club appears under the name Ystads IF FF . Among other things, the player Johannes Hopf , who plays in the first division at Hammarby IF today , played in the youth team.

The athletics section of the club acts independently as Ystads IF FI .
