Yukon Hold'em is a poker variant that belongs to the Hold'em category .

development

Yukon Hold'em developed in Alaska in the mid-1970s along the lines of similar variants, mainly from Texas and Omaha Hold'em .

Although it is still relatively seldom played today, it has grown in popularity in recent years, especially in the northwestern United States and parts of Canada .

game

As with all Hold'em variants, by default two players must pay minimum stakes, known as blinds , before the start of each hand . Then each player receives two hole cards , i.e. cards that only he can see and use. After a round of betting, two cards ( flop ) are placed in the middle of the table ( community cards ). There are now two card sets, which up to now consist of two individual playing cards. After another round of betting, a card ( turn ) is added to each set . Another round of betting follows before the river is dealt. This consists of only one card and can be used for both card sets. Now the fourth and final betting round follows.

Each set now consists of four cards that can be combined with each player's two cards. It is not allowed to combine cards from the different sets.
