Yumi Tamura

Yumi Tamura ( Japanese 田村 由 美 , Tamura Yumi , born in the 20th century in Wakayama Prefecture , Japan ) is a mangaka . She is particularly known for her series Basara and 7 Seeds .

Career

Yumi Tamura made his debut with the short story Ore-tachi no Zettai Jikan , which was published in 1983 in the magazine Bessatsu Shōjo Comic . In the same year she won the Shogakukan Manga Prize for the best newcomer.

Her first major success was with the action / adventure series Basara , for which Tamura won the 38th Shōgakukan Manga Prize in the Shōjo category in 1993. An anime followed in 1998, which tells the story of the first 5 volumes in 13 episodes. With her series 7 Seeds , she won another Shogakukan Manga Award for Shōjo Manga in 2003. The series was published by Shogakukan from 2001 to 2017, first in Betsucomi magazine , then in Flowers . An anime adaptation by 7 Seeds from the Gonzo studio followed in 2019 and was released on Netflix on June 28, 2019.
