Yuta (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yuta , also Yut (also pronunciation), was a measure of length for roads in the Kingdom of Siam . The measure corresponded to the mile or the roeneng . The Voua / Voah or fathoms as a reference to Yuta was a common measure in the country. The measure (fathom) was plotted on a pole with its parts. The bar length was 878 Paris lines long, about 1.98 meters . That was 6 feet plus 6 inches . The back calculation of known data (= 3828 meters or 3862.334 meters) from Roeneng or Yuta allows the measure to vary between 1.93 and 1.98 meters per fathom.

  • 1 Yuta = 100 Sens = 3960 meters
  • 1 Sen = 20 threads = 20 voua / fathom
  • 1 thread = 4 feet
  • 1 Yuta = 2000 Voua
