Yves Ravenel

Yves Ravenel (* 1965 ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ) and farmer from the canton of Vaud .

Ravenel is federally certified. dipl. Farmer, married and father of two children. In 1989 he was elected to the local parliament and in 2004 to the local government of Trélex . From 2012 to January 2020, Ravenel was a member of the Cantonal Parliament (the Grand Council) of the Canton of Vaud as a representative of the Nyon electoral district . There he presided over the judiciary commission. In July 2019, the Grand Council elected him President.

In January 2020 it became known that Ravenel had been fined for domestic violence against his wife in August 2019 . This sparked a political scandal in Vaud. On January 13, 2020, Ravenel resigned as President and member of the Grand Council.
