Zähringen is a district of the municipality Altheim (Alb) in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . The place is about three kilometers west of Altheim and can be reached via the district road K 7309 . With 5 farms, the place is still characterized by agriculture.

history

Zähringen is first handed down in 1361. In 1385 the village came into the possession of the imperial city of Ulm .

In the 15th century there were three farms in the village.

Attractions

  • Church, probably built in the 16th century, the tower was renewed in 1905.
  • In Zähringen there are five hiking trails on which you can visit the landscape around Zähringen.
  • In the Gasthaus Lamm you can enjoy good food after your hikes, the guesthouse is also popular with people far away from the Alb.
  • In the village square there is a lime tree that is over 600 years old. The linden tree is now hollow and is under nature protection.

Events

In Zähringen, the Zähringer Wiesleshock takes place annually on an orchard on the outskirts. More than 600 classic cars and over two thousand visitors gather at this festival on the second weekend in August. The festival is organized and carried out by the local association for young men in Zähringen.
