Altheim (Alb) town hall

coat of arms

The Altheim coat of arms, established in 1931, shows a split shield at the top, a three-lobed silver (white) flag with gold (yellow) fringes in red, divided by black and silver (white) at the back, and a silver (white) horn below in green (Mouthpiece on the right) with golden (yellow) fittings and golden (yellow) pastern.

The flag stands for the coat of arms of the Counts of Werdenberg , who sold the village belonging to the Albeck rule in 1385 with church set, Wittum and tithe rights to the imperial city of Ulm. The field of the municipal coat of arms, divided by black and silver, is reminiscent of the latter, while the Hifthorn is intended to indicate that the imperial town hall in Altheim was the seat of an Ulm chief forester from 1700.

education

In Altheim there was a one-tier Werkrealschule, which was most recently a branch of the Albecker-Tor School in Langenau. The Langenau Administrative Association was responsible for this. School operations were discontinued at the end of the 2013/14 school year due to the decline in the number of pupils. The school was formally closed at the end of the 2014/15 school year.

Since the school buildings became the property of the Altheim (Alb) community after the school was closed, the prerequisites for subsequent use were created. The Free Realschule Altheim (Alb) moved into these buildings from the 2016/17 school year.

Until December 31, 2016, the nursery school was run by the Protestant parish. Since January 1, 2017, the kindergartens have been run by the Altheim community.
