geography

Nerenstetten is located on the Mittlerer Flachalb approximately 15 kilometers northeast of Ulm .

Neighboring communities

The community borders in the north on Ballendorf , in the east on Setzingen and Öllingen , in the south on the city of Langenau and in the west on Börslingen .

Nerenstetten consists of two districts, the main town Nerenstetten and Wettingen .

history

In 1343 Nerenstetten was first mentioned in a document, the today's district Wettingen already around the year 1100. The community belongs to the community administration association Langenau .

Religions

The majority of the population is Protestant.

Municipal council

The local council in Nerenstetten has eight members. It consists of the voluntary councilors and the mayor as chairwoman. The mayor is entitled to vote in the municipal council. In the local elections on May 26, 2019 , the local council was elected by majority vote. Majority voting takes place if no or only one nomination has been submitted. The applicants with the highest number of votes are then elected. The turnout was 77.3%.

Economy and Infrastructure

The village is structured agriculturally . In 2003 there were eleven full-time farms and around ten part-time farmers who together farmed around 550 hectares.

education

Kindergarten and elementary school are located in Ballendorf, three kilometers away. They are run by a special purpose association to which Nerenstetten and some similarly small neighboring communities belong.
