Breitingen is a small community in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg .

Breitingen is a member of the Langenau Community Administration Association with its headquarters in Langenau .

geography

The community is located in the Swabian Alb in the Lone Valley , about 15 km north of Ulm . It borders in the north on Holzkirch , in the east on Bernstadt , in the south on Beimerstetten and in the west on Westerstetten .

history

Breitingen was first mentioned in a document in 1225.

The village is structured agriculturally . In 2003 there were five full-time farms and just as many part-time farmers who together farmed around 190 hectares.

Mayor Dieter Mühlberger was confirmed in office in March 2012 with 94.2% of the votes (no opposing candidate). Since the election on May 25, 2014, the municipal council has eight members.
