Oberstadion is an Upper Swabian municipality in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg .
geography
Geographical location
Oberstadion is located in northern Upper Swabia between Ehingen (Danube) and Biberach an der Riss . The Stehenbach, which flows into the Danube, flows through the municipality.
Neighboring communities
The community borders in the north on Unterstadion , in the east on Schemmerhofen and in the south on Attenweiler , both in the district of Biberach , in the west on Grundsheim and Uttenweiler .

The community consists of the districts Oberstadion, Hundersingen , Moosbeuren , Mundeldingen , Mühlhausen and Rettighofen .
history
Around 1270, the native of Grisons, based here aristocratic family named the stadium after the town.
In the course of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipalities of Mundeldingen (on January 1, 1972), Moosbeuren (on November 1, 1972) and Hundersingen (on January 1, 1975) were incorporated into Oberstadion.

In 2014, Oberstadion is aiming for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records with its Easter fountain, which currently has almost 27,000 eggs .

Buildings
- St. Martinus Church in the Oberstadion : a nave with five side chapels and eleven altars, seven of which are Gothic winged altars from the so-called Ulm School , the famous wood and stone sculptors of the 15th century. The choir stalls are by the sculptor Jörg Syrlin the Younger and the high altar is by the painter Jörg Stocker .
- Mundeldinger Käppele; the Marienkapelle was built in 1992/3 by committed Mundelders on their own.
- Moosbeurer Galgen: Grove near Moosbeuren, in which executions were carried out in the past and are believed to be under the remains of the Celts because it stands on a rather unnatural hill. The annual Gallows Festival takes place in the Gallows Forest every summer.
