Unterstadion is a municipality in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . The community belongs to the administrative community Munderkingen .
geography
Unterstadion is located in the Danube Valley , south of the Danube on the lower reaches of the Stehenbach.
Neighboring communities
The community of Unterstadion borders in the north on Rottenacker , in the east on the Volkersheim part of the city of Ehingen , in the south-east on Schemmerhofen in the district of Biberach , in the south and south-west on Oberstadion and in the north-west on Emerkingen and the city of Munderkingen .

The community consists of the two suburbs Unterstadion and Bettighofen .

history
The town of Unterstadion was first mentioned in 1129 , today's suburb of Bettighofen as early as 823 .
Municipal council
The municipal council in Unterstadion has eight members. It consists of the voluntary councilors and the mayor as chairwoman. The mayor is entitled to vote in the municipal council. In the local elections on May 26, 2019 , the local council was elected by majority vote. Majority voting takes place if no or only one nomination has been submitted. The applicants with the highest number of votes are then elected. The turnout was 70.3% (2014: 61.5%).
Religions
The lower stadium is predominantly Roman Catholic and has its own parish church "St.Maria and Ulrika Nisch ". It was inaugurated in 1982 by the then diocesan bishop Georg Moser and houses an Ulrika Nisch memorial. There is evidence that at least 40 religious and diocesan priests came from the small town.
music
Village life is framed by the Lyra music association. This orchestra has been playing at the top level without interruption for more than three decades. Traditionally, the annual concert takes place on Dreikönig.
Sports club
The SV Unterstadion consists of several departments (football, tennis, table tennis, gymnastics, aerobics, jazz dance, yoga & Qi-Gong).
