history

Thanks to fertile soils, settlement began on the Alb in the early Neolithic. Weidenstetten is located in the old settlement area, which has numerous evidence of settlement from the Merovingian period . However, after its name ended in -stetten, the place is only in an expansion phase. Excavations in the Petruskirche show that it was first built in the 10th century.
