The community is a member of the Kirchberg-Weihungstal community administration association based in Illerkirchberg .

Hüttisheim is located between the Danube and Iller, about 8 km from Laupheim and about 17 kilometers south of Ulm an der Schmiehe .

The community borders in the north on the city of Ulm , in the east on Staig and Schnürpflingen in the Alb-Donau district , in the south on the Bihlafingen district of the city of Laupheim in the district of Biberach and in the west on Achstetten , also in the district of Biberach, and the city Erbach (Danube) in the Alb-Donau district.

history

The first documentary mention in 1152 as Hittinishaim comes from the monks of the Rot an der Rot monastery. Both the Rot an der Rot monastery and the Wiblingen monastery had property in the village through donations and purchases. From around 1450 the entire village was then owned by the Benedictine monks from Wiblingen until the monastery was dissolved in 1806. However, the high level of jurisdiction, i.e. supremacy, always remained with the Counts of Kirchberg , the founders and governors of the Wiblingen Monastery. To this day, the abbot's staff in the municipality's coat of arms reminds of the four hundred years that it was part of the monastery.

Since June 2006 Hüttisheim no longer has a full-time mayor . The IT manager from Hüttisheim, Stefan Gerthofer, became the first honorary (part-time part-time) mayor of the community. In March 2014, Gerthofer was confirmed in office with 82 percent of the votes cast.

Culture and sights

Regular events

The theater group of the Hüttisheim Music Association plays in the community hall every year. Information about the performances can be found on the homepage of the Musikverein. The garden festival in Humlangen has a long tradition and is also organized by the music association. The garden festival always takes place on Corpus Christi .

A village festival has been taking place since 2005, with activities being offered in several of the village's farms.
