The Schmiehe is an approximately 10 kilometers right and south-southeast tributary of the Rot in Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ).
The Schmiehe rises in Bihlafingen (east-north-east part of Laupheim ). It flows mainly in a north-northwest direction through the municipality of Hüttisheim . It then crosses the 56 hectare Hüttisheim protected landscape area (LSG number 4.25.117), which has been designated since August 10, 1999, and which includes the valley areas and the southern slopes between Hüttisheim and Humlangen . Bank trees, water channels with strips of reed , field edges , field trees, individual trees and orchards characterize the ecologically valuable cultural landscape in this section . After crossing under the K 7369, the Schmiehe continues to flow in a west-northwest direction. After crossing under a section of the B 30 , it reaches Dellmensingen (southern district of Erbach ), where it flows into the Danube tributary Rot, which comes from the south .
