The Albeck lordship , based at Albeck Castle in today's Alb-Donau district , initially belonged to the noble lords of Albeck and came to the Margraves of Burgau around 1230 when they went out . In 1293, rule came to the Counts of Werdenberg ( Werdenberg-Albeck line ). They sold the rule to the imperial city of Ulm in 1381 , where it remained until 1802.

From the 13th century, Altheim and Öllingen belonged to the Albeck dominion.
