The ZFF 72 is a competition that the Zurich Film Festival has been running since 2014. Short films with a maximum length of 72 seconds on a given topic must be produced within 72 hours . The length, limited to 72 seconds, is close to that of an average cinema trailer . The contributions posted on the Internet are selected by a multi-member jury and the online audience and awarded prizes of around 10,000 Swiss francs . Both individual filmmakers and film crews take part. In 2014 the theme was “Coincidence”, and the award winners were Christian Wütschner, Lennart Benz and Lennart Zellmer. In 2015 the theme was “My First Time”, and the winners were Jason Sereftug and Silvan Giger. In 2016 the theme was “Water”, the winners were Marco von Moos and Tim Vogt, and the competition's ambassador was Kaya Yanar . Jury members are filmmakers such as B. Michael Steiner .
