Career
Stock initially played for the Pembroke Lumber Kings in the province of Ontario between 1992 and 1994 during his junior years . For the 1994/95 season he finally returned to his home province of Québec and was there in the following two years until the summer of 1996 for the Tigres de Victoriaville in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . He then attended Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish in the province of Nova Scotia for a year , where he played for the university's ice hockey team in the Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union .
The studies came to an abrupt end in November 1997 when the striker received a professional contract with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League . There he came in the course of the 1997/98 season in roughly equal parts for the Rangers in the NHL and their farm team , the Hartford Wolf Pack , in the American Hockey League . In the following two seasons, the Enforcer was only used sporadically for the Rangers, but celebrated the greatest success of his career at the end of the 1999/2000 game year by winning the Calder Cup . Nevertheless, Stock left the franchise after three years and switched to the Canadiens de Montréal as a free agent . After just five months and only 20 missions, the Canadiens parted ways with the attacker in December 2000 in a transfer deal. They gave him with a six- round suffrage in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft to the Philadelphia Flyers , who let Gino Odjick move to Montréal for it.
After the one-year contract signed the previous year expired, Stock returned to the New York Rangers in August 2001, but was selected a month later by the Boston Bruins in the NHL Waiver Draft . There he managed to stand permanently in Boston's NHL squad until the end of the 2002/03 season . Shortly after the start of the 2003/04 season , the Canadian found himself in the AHL, where he was awarded by the Providence Bruins to the Philadelphia Phantoms . In return, Philadelphia loaned Andre Savage to Providence. After the season ended, Stock retired from his active career at the age of 30.
After his active career, Stock worked as a sports journalist . Among other things, he worked for the Canadian television broadcaster CBC in its show Hockey Night in Canada . Since the end of 2013, Stock has been part of the broadcast team at Sportsnet TV .
