Zakumi

Zakumi on an Indonesian postage stamp (2010)

Zakumi is the official mascot of the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa . The figure represents a green-haired leopard who is wearing a white soccer jersey and green trousers. Its name is made up of "ZA", the international license plate for South Africa, and "kumi", a word that means ten in several African languages ​​(as in "2010"). Translated, Zakumi stands for "South Africa 2010".

Zakumi was invented by Andries Odendaal from Cape Town and presented to the public on September 22, 2008.

An animated series starring Zakumi was also produced.
