Specialty

In 1998 Zambian Breweries made a 100 percent takeover offer for what was then Northern Breweries, now National Breweries . The Zambian Competition Commission only tentatively approved the merger. In 2006, both breweries were listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange .

Two balance sheets are published. But the two breweries are constantly being confused with one another in financial reporting and in "insider" financial services, which makes it extremely difficult to identify information. The reason for this is likely to lie in the same major shareholder.
