Zaparwa
Zaparwa (tribe: Zaparwat-; nominative: Zarparwaz; Hittite : Ziparwa) was the Palai weather god, who is at the top in Pala’s lists of gods, followed by Kataḫziwuri and the sun god Tiyaz . In one text he is referred to as a "young man" ( Pala : mayanz ). Ziparwa had a temple in the Hittite capital Ḫattuša , where sacrifices were made on the 12th and 13th day of the AN.TAḪ.ŠUM festival and also on the 9th and 22nd day of the nuntarriyašḫa festival. Ram vessels were used in his cult . The name, which comes from the Hattic language, can possibly be pronounced as / Zparfa /.
