Tiyaz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tiyaz was the Palai sun god who anointed the king. It is named third after the weather god Zaparwa and the goddess Kataḫziwuri . The Ilaliyantikeš follow him . In a myth fragment, the eagle is his messenger. His nickname is Wašḫullaša:

“Well then, Wašḫullašaš Tiyaz! You are father to Tabarna , to the king, you are mother! "

The Phrygian male names Tiyes (old Phryg.) And Τιος (neuphryg.) Could point to a continuation of his veneration. The Luwian sun god Tiwaz corresponds to him .
