Zapon Dyes are lightfast solvent dyes , in organic solvents ( alcohols and glycol ethers ) are readily soluble. They belong to the group of organic metal complex dyes , mostly with chromium or copper or cobalt as the central atom .

Zapon dyes are used as a component of transparent lacquers ( Zapon lacquer ) for metals and for wood stains.
