Zbigniew Kicka (* 9. April 1950 in Polanica-Zdroj ) is a former Polish boxer in the welterweight division .

successes

Zbigniew Kicka was Polish champion in 1978 and 1979, and vice champion in 1973 and 1974.

His greatest international success was winning a bronze medal at the 1974 World Championships in Havana . After victories against Miguel Pena from the Dominican Republic, Marijan Beneš from Yugoslavia and Reinhard Skricek from Germany, he was only eliminated in the semi-finals against the American Clinton Jackson .

In 1976 he started at the Olympic Games in Montreal , where he failed again in the first fight against Clinton Jackson. At the World Championships in Belgrade in 1978 , he reached the quarter-finals after he had beaten Kouadio Kouassi from the Ivory Coast and Vincent Byarugaba from Uganda and then eliminated against the German Ernst Müller .
