Zdeněk Měšťan

Zdeněk Měšťan (born April 4, 1950 ) is a former Czech athlete and politician .

As a child he played a small role in the feature film “Ve světě kolejí” (German: In a world around it) by the Barrandov film studio. From 1972 to 1980 he was a footballer in the 2nd Czechoslovak league for Dynamo České Budějovice .

Měšťan studied political science at the University of Economics in Prague from 1985 to 1989 and received his doctorate in 1989. Zdeněk Měšťan is a member of the Komunistická strana Čech a Moravy (German: Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, KSČM). From 1998 to 2006 he was assistant to the Vice-President of the Czech Chamber of Deputies , Vojtěch Filip , the current chairman of KSČM.
