Under the name of mine Albert Ludwig in North Rhine-Westphalia six coal - small mines known. Of these six mines, two were operated in Vormholz and four in Hammertal in Witten . For better differentiation, the mines Albert Ludwig II , Albert Ludwig III , Albert Ludwig IV , Albert Ludwig V and Albert Ludwig VI were named. This numbering suggests that there must also have been an Albert Ludwig I colliery , but nothing more is known about it. Some of the small mines were operated at the same time, some of them followed one another.

Albert Ludwig II

This small mine was located on the east side of the Hammertal in Witten, it was the successor to the Kümpel mine . The mine began operations in 1955 . A total of 1,873 tonnes of hard coal were extracted via a tonnage shaft with six miners . Albert Ludwig II was shut down in March 1956 . approximate location

Albert Ludwig III

This mine was a tunnel mine, which was also located in the Hammertal in Witten. Commissioning took place in 1955. In 1956, eight miners produced a total of 1,258 tons of hard coal. On May 27, 1957, the mine was shut down. approximate location

Albert Ludwig IV

The commissioning of this small mine, which was located in Vormholz am Kamperbusch, took place in 1956. A year later, a total of 3,084 tons of hard coal was mined with eight miners. It was shut down on August 30, 1958. approximate location

Albert Ludwig V

This small mine was also located in Vormholz, east of Duchholzer Straße. The mine was put into operation in 1959 and in the first year a total of 576 tons of hard coal was extracted with a seven-man workforce. The mine was shut down on January 21 of the following year. approximate location

Albert Ludwig VI

This small mine was also located in Vormholz and was in operation for less than two years. Commissioning took place on October 1, 1960. In 1961, four miners extracted a total of 1,413 tons of hard coal. The mine was closed on December 31 of the same year. approximate location
