The Argus colliery in Wetter-Albringhausen is a former hard coal mine . The mine was probably already in operation in 1839. In addition to hard coal , iron stone was also extracted from the mine .
Mining history
On October 7, 1852, the square was awarded to Argus . On July 13, 1856, the Geviertfeld Argus II was awarded. In 1866 the mine was demonstrably in operation, hard coal was mined. In 1867, 18,972 tons of hard coal and an additional amount of iron ore that were not quantified were mined. In 1869 only hard coal was mined, with the production dropping to 1,054 tons. The Argus colliery was closed in 1870.
In 1874 and 1875 the mine was probably back in operation. In 1905 the Argus quarter was slammed into the United Trappe colliery. The Argus II quarter field was reopened in 1920 under the name Argus II colliery.

The Argus II mine was in the Wetter-Wengern district and was only in operation for about a year. In the year the Argus II quarter field was put back into operation, five miners extracted 65 tons of hard coal in the tunnel . There were two tunnels in operation. On August 1, 1921, the Argus II colliery was shut down.
