The Augustus Erbstollen colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Kupferdreh -Dilldorf. The mine was also known as the Augustus colliery .

Mining history

On March 3, 1809, was carried out ceremony of Erbstollengerechtigkeit and Erbstollen was ascended by the year 1811th The dismantling began in 1812. Already in August of the same year the tunnel of the Gabe Gottes colliery was closed. In 1838 the mine was combined with other mines to form the Hardenberg coal works. On July 3, 1841, an additional square was awarded. In 1845 the Hardenberg coal mines were liquidated and the Augustus Erbstollen colliery closed. The mine was put back into operation in 1859 so that the authorized person could not fall into the free mountain range , but the dismantling was only insignificant. On March 27, 1861 , the Augustus colliery consolidated Erbstollen with the Gabe Gottes colliery and Petersburg colliery to form the United Petersburg colliery .
