The Gabe Gottes colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Kupferdreh - Dilldorf . The colliery was independent for almost 100 years. During its operating time, the mine was shut down several times and only started up again years later.

Mining history

The mine was in the years 1758 to 1759 in operation, the survey , however, only took place in 1766. After the mine field first reduction had been operated, it later fell into the Mountain Free back. On June 30, 1792, the mine field was awarded again by the Hardenberg rule . In 1803 the authorized Huf I and Huferbank II of the Huferbänke colliery were also mentioned in the Mining Authority's files . In 1812 the Augustus Erbstolln was taken over and the route No. 2 revised, dismantling was also carried out this year. In 1817 a shaft was sunk . From February 1820 the colliery was out of order.

From 1838 to 1841 the Gabe Gottes colliery belonged to the Hardenberg coal mines . On July 3, 1841, a square was awarded. In the years 1845 to 1858 the Gabe Gottes colliery was again out of order. In 1859 the colliery was put back into operation so that the mine field did not fall into the open mountains; during this time, however, only insignificant mining was carried out. In 1860, a stretch to the west was driven to resolve the Petersburg colliery. On March 27, 1861 , the Gabe Gottes colliery consolidated with the Petersburg colliery to form the United Petersburg colliery.
