The Zechenhaus Weitmar in Bochum district Weitmar is a former small coal mine . The colliery was only in operation for a few years. The first owner of the small mine was the nobleman von Berswordt- Wallrabe, who operated the small mine as a coal mine .
Mining history
The colliery was put into operation on December 6, 1947 on Blankensteiner Strasse . The first production and workforce figures date from 1950, there were 14 miners working on the mine who produced 3080 tons of hard coal . The maximum production of the mine was achieved in 1952, when 6548 tons of hard coal were extracted with 23 miners. In 1954 the production sank to 2,412 tons of hard coal, this production was provided by 20 miners. On January 1st, the Haus Weitmar colliery was renamed Elisa colliery , while the sole proprietorship became a union .
At the Elisa small mine, whose new owner was the Elisa union, 25 miners extracted 3,040 tons of coal in the first year after the name was changed. In 1957, 21 miners extracted 4760 tons of hard coal, which was also the maximum extraction after the name was changed. The last extraction was made in 1960 with 17 miners; 2379 tons of hard coal were extracted. On April 30, 1961, the Elisa colliery was shut down.
