The Heinrich Zeche in Essen-Werden- Hamm is a former hard coal mine with a 25-year history. During this time it was only in operation for about seven years. Little is reported about the mine.
Mining history
The mine was mentioned as early as 1867. In 1880 the mining was carried out in the Dreckbank shaft, the shaft belonged to the Richradt colliery . In 1881 the field was further opened up by the Richradt colliery. This year 93 miners were employed at the colliery who produced 22,807 tons of hard coal. The maximum extraction was achieved in 1883 with 129 miners, 50,173 tons of hard coal were extracted. The last known production and workforce figures date from 1886, with 98 miners 34,784 tons of hard coal were mined. The mine was in operation in 1887, but no operational data are given for the year. In 1892 the Heinrich colliery was taken over by the Richradt colliery.
