The Thorenbank colliery is a former hard coal mine in Hattingen in the Dumberg district . The mine was already in operation in 1753.
Mining history
On March 3, 1753, a length field was awarded . In the years 1754 to 1755 the mine was on time , but was put back into operation from 1756. A survey took place in 1763. In 1775 the colliery was mentioned in the documents. In 1796 the area around shaft 2 was mined . Since the mine had no sliding path, it was shut down in February 1798. In 1898 the Thorenbank colliery consolidated into the Neuglück colliery .
