Show me the place in the sun is a song by the Austrian singer Udo Jürgens from 1971 to a text by Eckart Hachfeld . The song was written for the ARD television lottery Ein Platz an der Sonne and is the title track of Jürgens' record club album of the same name.
The original version of the song was released as a single on August 23, 1971 by Arista Records in Germany. The performance of the song lasted 3:52 minutes. In Germany, the song reached number 14 and was in the charts for a total of 19 weeks.
Already in 1971 was the song of James Last gecovert (Non Stop Party 13) , and later by Jens Otten, Klaus Dittmar and Stefan Mross on his album Music for the heart . Udo Jürgens himself also published a French version of the song under the title Dis-moi le nom de ton ile .
