Journal of Slavic Philology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zeitschrift für Slavische Philologie is the oldest still existing German-language Slavic journal.

The magazine was founded in 1924 by Max Vasmer , who edited it until his death, from 1947 together with his student Margarete Woltner . The editors handed this over to Peter Brang and Herbert Bräuer in 1968 . After Bräuer's death in 1990 he was succeeded by Helmut Keipert . The editorial board was then  supplemented in 1994 by Walter Koshaben and Tilman Berger . In 2009 and 2012, respectively, Brang and Keipert resigned from the committee; Dirk Uffelmann and Imke Mendoza took their place . Birgit Beumers has been another editor since 2014 . Jens Herlth joined the editorial team in 2019 and Walter Kos-) left it in 2020.

The magazine is published by the University Press Winter with two issues per year and contains literary and linguistic articles. The articles are usually published in German, but some also in English or Russian.
