The Zenith Bank is a Nigerian commercial bank with headquarters in Lagos . The credit institution was founded in 1990 by Jim Ovia and claims to be the largest bank in the country and the sixth largest bank on the African continent. In 2004 the institute changed its name to a “public limited company” and has been listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange since then. Zenith has over 500 branches across the country and has had a subsidiary in the United Kingdom since 2007. The business expands to other African countries, but over 90% of sales are generated in Nigeria. In addition to business with corporate customers , standardized private customer business is also served.
