The Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi ( Persian کتابخانه مرکزی آستان قدس رضوی) in Mashhad is the largest and oldest public religious reference library in Iran and one of the most important in the Islamic world. It was founded in 1457 and has over 50 branch libraries spread across the country and in India , a collection, some of which is up to 1,000 years old, of over 1.1 million media and the like. a.
