The magazine emerged from the Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin that was founded in 1953. In 1963 there was a split into three series, the Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin, series AC . The Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin, Series A was published in 1986 in the Journal of Veterinary Medicine. Renamed Series A, Physiology, Pathology, Clinical Medicine . It has been published six times a year under the name Transboundary and Emerging Diseases since 2008 . Works are published that deal with infectious diseases in animals.
