Central cooperative of the European butcher industry
The Central Cooperative of the European Butchers' Trade eG (own abbreviation: Zentrag eG) based in Frankfurt am Main is a trading and service company in the meat industry .
It operates as a registered cooperative . In 2011, 54 central butcher cooperatives were affiliated with it, 47 of them in Germany and others in Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and France. Because of the non-German cooperatives, the Zentrag uses the name "European". In 2013 the number of members was 53, in which around 18,500 companies are organized according to their own statements.
The Zentrag offers the member cooperatives on an industry-specific program of trade and service offerings, including the import of fresh and frozen meat, the Shopping bundling in the food and non-food assortment, the development of own-brand Guild , marketing and sales promotion and advocacy to the public. The group's own turnover in 2011 was 104.4 million euros.
