Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party

The Central Committee (CC) of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ( Chinese  中国 共产党 中央 委员会 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Gòngchǎndǎng Zhōngyāng Wěiyuánhuì ) is elected for five years by the CCP's party conference .

It implements the resolutions of the CCP Congress, directs all party work and represents the CCP in foreign relations .

The 2007 of the XVII. The CPC Central Committee elected to the Congress consisted of 204 members and 167 candidates . The candidates are not entitled to vote and take part in plenary sessions of the Central Committee in an advisory capacity.

Plenary sessions of the Central Committee take place at least once a year and are convened by the Politburo of the Central Committee . Between plenary sessions, the Politburo and its Standing Committee exercise the functions and powers of the Central Committee . The general secretary of the Central Committee can be considered the chairman of the CCP.
