Central Council of the Non-Denominational
The Central Council of Non-denominational (also: The Non-denominational ) is an association of secular organizations in Austria . It was founded as an association in Vienna in December 2009 and sees itself as the advocacy of the ideologically open non-denominational group . The Central Council advocates the separation of religion and state as well as the equality of religious and ideological communities . He fights against the discrimination of atheists and agnostics, perceived as such by its members .
Basics and goals
According to its own information, the association does not claim sole representation for this population group, but it does demand the same rights for it as for a state-recognized religious community, since non-denominational people are often subject to discrimination in their social reputation and in everyday professional life.
According to your own understanding, you are particularly committed to:
- The separation of the state and churches / religious societies / denominational communities ( secularity ) in the sense of religious neutrality and the democratic constitution of the state, in order to bring about an end to the social and political privileges of the institutions mentioned, which they see as such, and thus the discrimination of non-religious groups in Austria
- People without religious denomination who feel committed to humanistic , social and democratic principles ; these should be recorded organizationally and their interests represented to the state
- Preventing religions, churches and sects from trying to exercise power over people
- Help for people who belong to a religious community and want to quit it
- Well-founded advice for people who are confronted with psychological or legal problems through the fault of religions, churches or sects
- psychological help with religious problems and difficulties in breaking away from religion
- the introduction of compulsory ethics lessons that are not given by religion teachers.
