The Duboux Editions SA is a Swiss Specialized book publisher that specializes in multilingual technical dictionaries of the areas gastronomy , hotel industry , food industry and tourism .

Publishing history

In 1988, the Thun couple Marianne and Jean-Pierre Duboux founded the Rot-Weiß AG publishing house, based on the Thun and Swiss colors red and white. In 1989, after more than four years of preparatory work, the first trilingual reference work with the title Duboux, Gastronomy, Hotel Industry , Tourism, primarily for chefs, innkeepers, receptionists and cookery teachers, was published with around 23,000 technical terms each in German-French-English.

In 1997 the publisher's name was changed to Duboux Editions SA and the appearance of the products was changed to red-white-red. The Duboux lettering in white Stop lettering on a red background is registered and protected worldwide as a word mark.

Products

The publisher publishes specialist dictionaries for the food and beverage industry, gastronomy, hotel and tourism. Reference works published so far in print form: bilingual dictionaries as large editions, bilingual pocket dictionaries Gourmet dictionary with various language combinations (bidirectional) and the spelling aid for teaching and practice with essential rules for menu spelling for the languages ​​German, French, English and Italian. With over 200,000 technical terms per language (German, French, English, Italian, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Dutch, Romansh, Latin), the online edition is the most comprehensive reference work in this area.
