Central association hardware trade

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zentralverband Hartwarenhandel eV ( ZHH ), until 1995 the professional association of the German hardware and household goods trade eV (FDE), is a professional association of the German trade with a focus on the medium-sized hardware trade .

history

In 1898 the association was founded under the name Association of German Hardware Dealers ( VDE ) in Mainz as a result of a merger of three associations. The VDE united the Mainz South German Ironworkers Association , whose President Carl Schmahl took over the presidency of the VDE, with the Association of West German merchants in the household and kitchen appliances and hardware industry in Cologne and the Association for those interested in the household and hardware industry in Northern Germany .

In 1935, through political pressure, it became a contracting association of German hardware dealers ; it was not until 1946 that the VDE was re-established in a legally independent form. In 1954 it was renamed the Fachverband des Deutschen Eisenwaren- und Hausrathandels eV ( FDE ). 1995 Acceptance of the current designation in the Central Hardware Association ( ZHH ).

In 1998 the ZHH left the Main Association of German Retailers (HDE) and became a founding member of the Working Group of Medium-sized Trade Associations (AMF).

Membership development

Like all AMF associations , the ZHH accepts hardware dealerships as members, i.e. H. not mediated through regional retail associations.
