The Bundeswehr Cyber ​​Security Center (ZCSBw) is a service center with headquarters in Euskirchen, as well as other locations in Munster, Rheinbach, Münster, Wilhelmshaven, Ulm and Berlin.

The center belongs to the organizational area of cyber and information space and is subordinate to the information technology command of the Bundeswehr in Bonn. Its tasks include IT security, system integration and project support as well as the support of integrated verification.

history

With a State sweisung of 24 March 2000 on a design approach for the information and communications systems of the Bundeswehr has been prepared by the Ministry of Defense laid the foundation for the establishment of a Center for Information Technology of the Bundeswehr. The IT-ZentrumBw was set up from parts of the dissolved system center Heer in Euskirchen and the Office for Telecommunication and Information Systems of the Bundeswehr (AFmISBw) in Rheinbach as a subordinate area of ​​the former Federal Office for Information Management and Information Technology of the Bundeswehr (IT-AmtBw) in Euskirchen.

As part of the establishment of the new military organizational area cyber and information space in April 2017, the information technology center of the Bundeswehr was decommissioned on March 31, 2017. The handover of its tasks, orders and staff took place at the new Center for Cyber Security of the Bundeswehr in the Command Support Command of the Armed Forces . On July 1, 2017, it was then subordinated to the information technology command of the Bundeswehr .
