Hans Adolff

Hans Adolff (* 1904 in Backnang ; † after 1970) was a German entrepreneur and twice president of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . He comes from the Adolff family who ran the JF Adolff wool spinning mill in Backnang. Hans Adolff was the oldest son of the manufacturer Wilhelm Adolff.

In the mid-1920s, Adolff took over one of the two skiing departments at TSG Backnang . Hans Adolff completed a commercial apprenticeship at the Reutlingen company Emil Adolff in 1921 and joined the JF Adolff parent company in 1924. In 1937 he became director of the worsted spinning mill in Kaiserslautern . In the 1950s, Adolff was an important sponsor of 1. FC Kaiserslautern with worsted yarn spinning and also made financial contributions to player transfers. JF Adolff AG was a major shareholder in the worsted yarn spinning mill in Kaiserslautern. Adolff was also on the board there. Through the worsted spinning mill, Adolff was also the employer of Werner Kohlmeyer .

In his first term as president of 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 1957 to 1960 he took over the office from acting president Ernst Wüstenhagen . During this time, 1. FC Kaiserslautern was no longer the dominant team in the Oberliga Südwest , as some of the World Cup heroes and other important players had already ended their careers. In his second term, after his successor Karl-Heinz Brinkhop resigned in 1965 , Adolff took over the presidency of 1. FC Kaiserslautern and held it until 1970. During this tenure, the club surprisingly achieved 5th place in the 1966/67 season , the best Bundesliga - Placement up to the 1978/79 season . On January 15, 1965, Adolff was appointed honorary member of the Bundesliga club at an extraordinary general assembly. On March 20, 1970, Willi Müller took over the office of president as his successor, having previously held the office of vice-president for a year.
